Since 2013, served as Mentorship Partner for the Rice Business Plan Competition, the largest business plan competition in the World.  RBPC alumni have raised more than $1.3 billion. More than $2 Million is awarded to the top teams at the competition each year.

After a professional applies, EFN will respond to your application within a week of your submitting it with questions or acceptance into the mentor cohort.The time commitment is about eight to ten hours between approximately early March and early April when the Rice holds the competition in Houston.

No travel is required. Mentoring of the teams will be over the phone, email and other means.  EFN uses an online platform to make it easier for teams and mentors to connect, share information, and schedule and hold calls.

Mentors will be matched to RBPC team based on your preferences and the teams’ needs.

EFN provides training on entrepreneurial mentoring to all mentors and helps mentors connect with each other.

Mentors selected for this program are welcome to attend the competition.

Mentors are a powerful and sustaining thread in the program; as a mentor you will have an opportunity to help the young entrepreneurs entering the RBPC learn more and be more successful.Mentors are responsible for commenting on their team’s business plan and highlighting issues that may arise in the pitches during the competition. Mentors give feedback on team pitches and their Power Point Presentations.
