Engagement and Events Specialist

iCatalysts and Entrepreneur Futures Network (EFN) are seeking a part-time, contract (24-32 hours a week) Outreach and Engagement Specialist to run events, etc. with a start date of approximately March 30th – April 30th.

This contract position will be remote and will be for approximately 1 year with possible extensions. This position is for candidates located in California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.

We are seeking a self-motivated, independent /outgoing and action-oriented individual interested in doing impactful work in technology entrepreneurship and innovation and who likes working in a well-organized and energetic team environment.

The specialist’s focus will be planning, marketing and executing events throughout California where startups and technology companies working to improve our climate and energy systems will present and network with investors, customers and partners. Events will be sponsored by the Empower Innovation Network , a partnership that iCatalysts co-directs with multi-year funding from the State of California.

The candidate who joins our team will benefit by expanding her/his professional connections globally, learn about new and emerging markets and technology fields, build marketing and communications skills, get experience with relevant tools and systems including Salesforce, network analysis, database and email marketing.

Position Description

The individual hired for this position will lead and support the following activities to engage people, customers and partners in our work:

  • Event planning, marketing and execution
  • Website and social media presence
  • Newsletters
  • Developing marketing collateral
  • Event attendee, customer and partner lead follow-up including sending collateral materials

The specialist will lead or support marketing and communications activities to acquire and serve new users, members, partners and sponsors for our owned or affiliated programs including:

  • Entrepreneur Futures Network including EFN Online.
  • Empower Innovation Network (EIN)
  • Leading approximately five events annually for EFN and Empower Innovation.
  • Marketing approximately 10 EFN webinars per year

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Highly organized with a natural attention to detail
  • Strong listening, oral, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, complete activities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel once or twice monthly.
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent business experience
  • Experience with Salesforce/CRM is preferred

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation and flexibility. Compensation is commensurate with experience but in the $35 to $60 an hour range.
